The Department of mathematics was Established in the year 2018

Objective

  • To perform widely recognized research in focused areas of mathematical and statistical theory, methodology, and education.
  • To explore applications of mathematics and statistics and engage in collaborative research in an interdisciplinary environment.
  • To provide professional services based on our diverse mathematical and statistical expertise to the scientific, technical, and educational community.
  • To offer a set of core courses in mathematics aimed at developing the student’s intellectual curiosity, creative ability and habit of independent study.
  • To provide the opportunity for the student to participate in research projects, summer training, seminars, work experiences, participation in congresses, exchange of students and creative projects.
  • To promote ethics in the profession in the courses or in other academic activities, such as: conferences, orientations and seminars.
  • To train professionals in the education of mathematics at all levels.
  • To provide opportunities for the student to participate in collaborative work and develop their leadership and group work skills.
  • To facilitate and promote second concentration in mathematics for students of other disciplines.
  • To provide mentoring through graduate students and teachers to individualize and enrich the student’s mathematical experience.
  • To provide courses, mentoring, participation in research projects and other activities for students interested in pursuing graduate studies in mathematics.
  • To provide the opportunity for students to concentrate in mathematics to study related fields

  • To discover, mentor, and nurture mathematically inclined students, and provide them a supportive environment that fosters intellectual growth
  • To employ effective educational tools for our undergraduate and graduate courses, informed by the scholarship of teaching and learning of college-level mathematics.
    • To prepare our undergraduate and graduate students to develop the attitude and ability to apply mathematical methods and ideas in a wide variety of careers.
    • To provide Palacode taluk and its region with a sufficient number of well-qualified mathematics teachers at all levels.
    • To prepare future scientists and engineers adequately for the mathematical needs of their disciplines and to give all students on campus a general education in the mathematical sciences.
